Ethics
To help ensure that City decisions are—and are perceived to be—fair, impartial, and made in the best interests of the public, City personnel are held to appropriately high standards of conduct. Those standards are contained in the City’s governmental ethics laws, which address issues such as gifts, honoraria, conflicts of interests, recusals, political activity, the misuse of position or confidential information, outside employment, and the revolving door. The campaign finance laws also apply to officeholder committees.
